Weird Fish clothing has partnered with the RSPB to introduce a new Robin Hood themed T-shirt.
The ‘Robin Hood’ T-shirt is available directly online from Weird Fish and will also be stocked in the RSPB’s new visitor centre in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire.
The Weird Fish T-shirt is available for £20, with £5 from each sale being donated to the RSPB, the UK’s largest conservation charity. Flier Tuck, Alan-A-Quail, Maid Marrihen, Trill Scarlet and Twittle John all feature prominently on the T-shirt.
John Stockton, managing director at Weird Fish, commented: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the RSPB with this themed T-shirt. Legend suggests that Robin spent much time in Sherwood Forest and so we’re really excited to have our new charity T-shirt stocked in its visitor centre and also available directly from Weird Fish.
“Our new T-shirt is perfect timing for movie fans too – the new Robin Hood movie hits cinema screens across the country in November and our design pays tribute to ‘Flier Tuck,’ ‘Maid Marrihen,’ ‘Trill Scarlet’ and ‘Twittle John’.”
Weird Fish has been in partnership with the RSPB since January 2015 and has raised over £60,000 with the sale of its limited edition T-shirts for the charity. Robin Hood is the eleventh T-shirt designed exclusively for the charity.
The Sherwood Forest visitor centre and nature reserve, an RSPB-led partnership between Sherwood Forest Trust, Thoresby Estate, the Woodland Trust and Nottinghamshire County Council, opened on Monday August 27 and provides a modern gateway to the home of Robin Hood and a host of wildlife.
Sherwood Forest has the largest collection of ancient oaks in Western Europe and is home to The Major Oak, thought to be 1,000 years old, with a giant canopy spanning 28 metres and thought to have provided legendary shelter to Robin Hood.
The Robin Hood Festival returns for its 34th year from Monday August 27 to Sunday September 2 at Sherwood Forest. The festival will treat families to entertainment, activities and costumed characters and entertainers. Medieval fans will also be able to purchase the Robin Hood Weird Fish T-shirt from the new visitor centre or online from Weird Fish.
Katy Terry, corporate partnerships manager at the RSPB, commented: “We are thrilled to have been working with Weird Fish since 2015; engaging our supporters to come up with playful puns for the T-shirts and raising vital funds that help us to address the many challenges facing wildlife at this time.
“We hope Weird Fish customers and visitors to the Sherwood Forest visitor centre will get behind this brilliant themed T-shirt to raise vital funds and help celebrate the outlaw, hero and legend that is Robin Hood.”
The Robin Hood T-shirt is available to buy nationally from Weird Fish online www.weirdfish.co.uk/p/men/mens-new-styles/i/robin-hood-artist-t-shirt-oxblood-11002
