Superior, a leading manufacturer based in Dorset, is celebrating after being shortlisted in two categories of the South West Global Growth Awards.

The family-run manufacturer of o-rings and seals based in Ferndown Industrial Estate has been included in the ‘Excellence in Innovation in International Trade’ and ‘International Company of the Year (£25m+ turnover)’ categories of the inaugural awards.

The South West Global Growth Awards, organised by Insider Media, aim to recognise the region’s top exporters and importers across a range of sectors, which are pioneering and innovating around international trade.

Tim Brown, managing director of Superior, said: “It’s a great honour to be shortlisted for two awards at the South West Global Growth Awards. We’re up against some great companies for the Excellence in Innovation in International Trade and the International Company of the Year (£25m+ turnover) categories. Collectively we help  put the region on the map as a champion for business in the UK and across the globe.”

Insider Media’s judging panel for the awards, which was made up of industry experts, noted the exceptional standard of entries this year. The judging panel comprised of Madeleine Rowland of the Department for International Trade (DIT), Chris Couzins-Short of Tudor Rose International, Ben Rhodes of the CBI and Frances Fawcett of International Trade Matters.

David Clensy, editor of South West Business Insider, who chaired the judging session, said: “There were many excellent entries for the awards, which made judging each of the categories quite a challenge.”

The South West Global Growth Awards finalists will be heading to a glittering black-tie awards ceremony taking place in Bath on Wednesday, June 19, to champion the leaders of the region’s fastest growing global businesses and celebrate their achievements over the past 12 months.
