The Hoburne Group in Christchurch has won Employer of the Year at Brockenhurst College’s annual Gala Awards.
The award was presented at the Gala Awards ceremony which took place at the College and recognises outstanding student performance, as well as businesses that contribute to the college community.
Rosie Kennar, chairman of Hoburne, said: “We are very honoured to have received this award and proud of the relationship we’ve built with Brockenhurst College. Their passion for providing opportunities and first-hand experience for their students is something to be admired.”
The Hoburne Group, which was founded more than 100 years ago by Rosie Kennar’s great-grandfather, has been championing apprenticeships, work experience programmes and job opportunities in conjunction with the college for many years.
Rosie Kennar added: “We will continue to work with the college on our training and development programmes across the Hoburne Group in order to instil confidence in all our staff and encourage them to continue to advance their skills.”
Allan Collier Head of Curriculum Hospitality, Adult Care, Customer Service, Retail & The Visitor Economy at Brockenhurst College, said: “Hoburne has continually supported Brockenhurst College with opportunities for its students and the development for a fully bespoke training and development programme across all of its locations and work roles.
“The career opportunities that are available range from the operational to senior management roles and the strong working relationship that we have built up over the years of working together.

Today, the Hoburne Group includes eight holiday parks set in idyllic locations across the south, which offer a wide range of accommodation for holidaymakers and private owners. The huge range of leisure and entertainment facilities on the Parks are also available for local social or leisure membership, and for private parties, meetings and events of all kinds.
