Café Meru at Brewery Square, formerly The Deli Kitchen, has become an official partner to Paddy & Scott’s Coffee.

Founded in 2007, Paddy and Scott bought a roaster with the intention of making their own coffee. The company has grown from strength to strength and in 2015 made the decision to cease supply to supermarkets in order to focus on the quality of the product and maintain personal relationships with customers. They have since been growing, picking, sorting, and roasting their own coffee and also set up an academy for baristas in 2018.

Café Meru owns a tree in the Muchomba Farm, Kenya, where the coffee is produced, as well as becoming part of the membership for the Meru Foundation, set up in order to give back to the village and community surrounding the farm.

Keith, owner of Café Meru, commented: “Working with Paddy & Scott’s is absolutely fantastic. So far, the foundation has been able to provide running water, washing and toilet facilities for the local Ruiga School, as well as a model farm to educate the children in modern coffee farming methods.”

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager for Brewery Square, commented: “We’re really pleased for Keith and the team at Café Meru. It’s a great initiative to be involved with and the staff are so passionate about making a difference by working alongside the foundation.”

The offering at Brewery Square includes Belle Modelle, Woods Furniture, Thomas J William, The Highbrow Clinic, Pizza Express, Nandos, Café Meru and Costa Coffee. Visit https://www.brewerysquare.com/ for more information about Brewery Square.
